Steve Last has been a waste management and water treatment consultant since 1985. His main activities have focussed on waste processes, leachate treatment, and composting, landfill design and development and solid waste handling and treatment. He has worked on many overseas projects projects, notably in Hong Kong, and South Africa, although he has mostly worked closer to home on projects in England, Scotland, and Ireland. Steve has been involved in waste management in the UK throughout the development of waste management science and technology from the days of largely un-engineered landfills, to the current generation of EU Landfill Regulations compliant sites. He has been involved in the development of some of the largest landfill sites from Scotland to Hong Kong, and recently also in Malaysia, and in particular has helped develop Enviros’ leading reputation in leachate treatment. For the past three years he has been actively developing the company’s involvement in composting, initially in in-vessel designs, and anaerobic digestion, but now also in MRFs (Materials Recovery Facilities) and MBT Plants. In addition to project development reporting, feasibility and design work, Stephen has considerable experience in construction contract administration, supervision, and commissioning.
Steve is a Technical Director who also acts as Technical Manager of staff within his project team.
